After making those T-shirts, I decided to make some salmon fillets from a whole salmon.

I had no experience with preparing fish, so it was quite an adventure. I found a guide online on how to create a perfect salmon fillet. Mine turned out a bit less than perfect more like a lot less.

But, I got some meat out of the fish, and only 6 teeny bones were found in the fish during the meal. Impressed? Of course you are.

So, my day was almost eventful.

School ends for this season tomorrow. I'm hardly excited.

I finished typing my paper for foods class, and almost all the hard work of the school year has come to a halt.

Community Service

Yesterday, I supported communism by volunteering at the neighborhood pool.

It was quite intense work. I think we (Ryo and I) worked for either 4 or 5 hours.

We painted at least 20 benches (by hand) and then painted 3 chairs and one table.

But, we got all of the work finished, and we have gained ourselves some sort of reputation amongst the neighborhood board.

Yawn. It was exhausting work.

Plus, the paint got all over my legs, feet, and arms. That was one of the worst parts of all. Getting the damned paint off of my body. But, that is fortunately all finished too!

So, I feel like I actually accomplished something for my weekend other than studying for these wretched finals.

Before going to help at the pool, I went over to Ryo's house to study for French. We studied for about half an hour or so, until we decided we were set for the upcoming final. After the studying, we headed outside to take pictures of ourselves jumping in the air. It was surprisingly great fun, and some nice photos came out of it.

Today was about as bad as yesterday. Fotunately, it's over now.

Smelly

Bleh! What is this horrible smell?

Did I pick it up at school somewhere?

I didn't fart. I didn't burp. I didn't eat anything funk...

...wait, I did eat something a bit funky in foods class today.
They were supposedly croutons, but I find myself thinking that they were more like moldy bread crumbs. Eww, it is my hands. They smell absolutely volatile. I believe the smell may have come from the horrendous pizza pan we made the croutons on. I think it must've been moldy.

This is completely disgusting.

I think I am going to go purge myself of this infestation on my fingers.

Okay, I am back. My hands still don't smell better. Hopefully, this isn't one of those stenches that never seem to leave. If it is, I think I may as well go and vomit now to get it over with. When I smell the same disgusting smell for too long, like anyone, I eventually vomit. This is a rather good thing to do though, because now the stench of vomit is infesting your body, so you rid yourself of the previous stench.

Ah, speaking of vomit. I almost cried earlier.

No, not because I was particularly sad, or feeling bad about my life. It was because of this tremendous stomach cramp that came over me right when I walked into the house. Well, these stomach (more appropriately abdomen) cramps began last summer, and since then, I have concluded that they happen when I leave my bowels unattended. Let me tell you from first hand experience, it is one of the worst feelings I have experienced in my life this far. I think that they must be hereditary or something, because my mother, uncle, and grandpa got them, but my brother and sister don't ever get them.

Oh, my abdomen is still buzzing from the horrible experience.

Surprisingly, the cramps last a very long time. I ran to the bathroom as soon as I stepped in the door from school, and here I am a whole hour later complaining about it. Oh man, they usually get me breaking down into tears and begging for mercy, but fortunately, I handled this one quite well.

I am developing some coping techniques.

Well, to help time pass during my misbowel, I tried reading my new book, Fight Club. It didn't work too well since the pain is so severe.

I suppose that I won't experience real pain for quite some time, but until then, I think I have gotten pretty darn close.

These experiences really drain the energy out of your body. Maybe I will take a nap, but ALAS, there is no time. Too much homework. Maybe I can just lay down as I try to study for the wretched finals which start this Friday.

Too bad my school doesn't make this week a dead week. I am loaded with tons of study guides and busy work.

Hopefully I can get it done quickly and efficiently.

New Phase

My life moves in phases, and yours probably does too.

Usually a phase is characterized by a new scent, and a new feel. They are usually sepereated by some big event. Usually, there is my birthday phase, my Christmas phase, my end-of-school phase, etc.

Now, I have begun a completely new phase. Sometimes, you can have phases that are just like a previous phase in the scent and feel, but it occurs at a different time, but th e[hase I am having now is a completely new one.

Unfortunately, you don't even realize the scent or feel of the current phase until it is over. Even when the phase ends, you have to wait until nostagia kicks in to get a complete feeling of what a past phase was.

Do these phases even happen to anybody else? Or, are they just some strange thing that I have always had?

Who know? You do. Do you have these phase thingies?

New Scheme = New Beginning

So, I have changed the color scheme and logo of this blog, and I hope it is enjoyed by all.

It certainly has my vote.

I guess some people don't like the pixelation effect on the logo, but I absolutely adore it.

Well, the reason for such excitement is the Wii console (aka Nintendo Revolutions). All of this E3 coverage is making me antsy!

I cannot bare to wait to get the new Super Smash Bros.: Brawl. It seems like the ultimate.

Plus, it has the new vitural blahness, which is extremely exciting. I can't wait to get Mario World 3 for my Wii (if I ever get one). On top of all this greatness, my friend, Ryo, informs me that Opera is the browser of choice on the Wii. Total greatness.

Wow, I should stop talking about this before I try to steal one or something outrageous.

5 minutes until bus...

Let's see how far I can get in this five minutes.

First of all, last night was a bit depressing. Again, I felt like I was going to start crying with everypassing second. On top of this, for some odd reason, I find my self cussing a whole bunch. I am not exactly sure why though.

Last night, in an attempt to pass time, I read my sister part of her 'traslated for children' Odyssey book. It was actually as close to the story as they could get while including the gruesome details.

Once that book was finished, I guess I just sulked and listened to angry music. I wish teachers would give more homework.

I tried to do my only homework, Chemistry, but I didn't understand it. My teacher needs to explain it better to me today.

So, I actually feel much better right now. I like this blogging deal. Great ventilation.

I guess I must start heading out to the school bus soon; start a new day.

Today is a DDR club day. Second to last meeting. Hopefully it goes well.

What is wrong with me, and why am I so confused?

I feel like a complete nervous wreck.

Actually, I know the answers to these questions, but I won't be telling.

I am beginning to feel myself spiraling downward into the hole of depression. I keep feeling like I am constantly about to cry. No, I guess I don't feel this way all the time, just when I am at home or alone.

I feel so unproductive too. I haven't been keeping up my comic (which was supposed to update today and yesterday, but didn't). That's probably why I am sitting here right now writing this post. I need to have something to keep my mind occupied.

Speaking of keeping my mind occupied, I took a shot at doing this the past two days by reading a book I got at Borders. It is called "Running With Scissors." The book is about a kid growing up in a completely odd life with a psychotic mother and her unorthodox psychiatrist. The author, Augusten, is stuggling with a variety of things in his life including his homosexuality, family, school, and a pedophile he at one points believes he loves.

It's a great book, and I highly recommend it. You better read it fast before the movie comes out later this year.

• 4. Health- Health sucks. The teacher always picks on me for being quiet. Today he told me that I should watch out, or else I will get a detention. Class laughed; I didn't.


• 5. English- Gawd, I hate English. My teacher is a mean one. I had a nightmare about her last night. We watched a strange 70's film today.


• 6. French- Substitute, worksheet, happiness.


• 7. Nutrition and Wellness- My most boring class of the day today. We didn't really do much of anything.



• I came home after a nice bus ride with Ryo.



• Played around on the computer.



• Got kicked off of the computer.



• Took a bath and read an anime magazine.



• Went to my room to watch Patlabor 2: The movie.

What are you thinking about now?

If you are thinking about lawn work, I feel sorry for you.

Well, today, I saw a weed. Not the kind of weed that you eat, drink, pick, smoke, and shove up your butt. I am talking about the kind of weed that I feel sorry for.

When I see a person that makes me feel sad inside, they are labeled as 'Weeds.' There are quite a few people in my Weed Patch, but a new one was added today.

It was quite a depressing thing. This girl received the title of the 'Stress-Weed.'

I begin to feel bad when I start thinking of her and her horrible, pulverized day.

Stress-Weed was my substitute teacher today in my Nutrition and Wellness (cooking class cooking=?) class. Unfortunately, she had also substituted for a Orientation to Life and Careers (Freshman required flunk-off course.) class earlier that day. This is bad for any teacher's ego and sanity to teach a class of unwilling freshman. Believe me on this one. So, by the time it is the last hour of the day (when I have her), she is stressed to bits. The worse thing of all, she had spent loads of her time studying to be a teacher in college.

I could tell she was stressed from all of the freshman insubordination.

She was stressed and angered so bad, that she muttered as she passed me by, "I am dropping my major."

She definately saw the bad side of teaching. I think that she should've subitted her name to be an elementary school sub., so that the children wouldn't be quite as defiant.

Comic Host Switch

I just switched the hosting of my webcomic from http://different.smackjeeves.com to www.different.comicgenesis.com.

It seems to make a nice little home there.

I am quite proud of my page template, I think that it turned out rather nicely. There are still a few things I need to figure out with it, (Adding a little text box to the bottom page ect.) but it is really quite vamped up all ready.

The cool thing is, the comic started just yesterday, and it is already 5 pages long plus a cover! But, it still retains a fairly good quality to the quantity, so all is good.

Pangya!

On the 28th, Tuesday, Asia Soft (the creators of Maple Story) released the BETA version for their newest game called Pangya.

It is an MMORPG, but not the kind that you automatically think about when you hear it. It is a golf game in which you can interact with other players, level up, and buy items.

All you need to do to sign up is get an Asia Soft account, get a Pangya account, and then finally download the game client.

>Yeah, it's really annoying to do all this stuff, but for me it was worth it. (I don't even really like golf that much.)

The best part of this game are its awesome 3D, anime style characters, and detailed scenery.

Mammoth Cave

Yeah, I traveled to Mammoth Cave yesterday. It was pretty neat.

Mammoth cave is the largest cave in the world, so it was really pretty interesting to visit.

I'll update this post further once I have the pictures available for upload.

Yesterday was the first week day of spring break. It started out rather nicely, as we traveled to this waterfall.



It was actually pretty cool to look at considering it was rather close to here.

After visiting the waterfall, we went to get ice cream at Dairy Queen. I got this delicious banana creme pie Blizzard. Yum!

So, break is starting off almost slowly, but tomorrow...
...tomorrow I head out to Kentucky to cave city! I am going to go spelunking in Mammoth Cave! I will report back on either Friday or Thursday night.

"SALEM, Va. - A high school student Tuesday recited 8,784 digits of Pi — the non-repeating and non-terminating decimal — likely placing him among the top Pi-reciters in the world.


Gaurav Rajav, 15, had hoped to recite 10,790 digits and set a new record in the United States and North America. But he remembered enough to potentially place third in national and North American Pi recitation and 12th in the world.

His ranking should be verified by the Pi World Ranking List within two months.

"I'm kind of disappointed, but I guess I did OK," said Gaurav, a junior at Salem High School.

But his mathematical feat won the praise of others, including the math and computer science teacher who got Gaurav interested in it.

"I'm still stunned," said Linda Gooding, one of three contest judges. She then joked, "That's a couple more than I can do."

Gaurav began memorizing Pi while a student in Gooding's class. Gooding holds the competition every year, and said she expected students to learn about 40 digits. Gaurav recited nearly 2,990 the first time.

Gaurav's parents promised him an
Xbox 360 video game console if he had reached his goal. His father, Jogesh Rajav, jokingly offered to get him "an Xbox, but no game."

But Gaurav ultimately turned town his mother Seema's offer to buy him the game system anyway because of their deal.

The Grow Series

I spent the last few hours playing the Grow games at EyezMaze.com.
Here's what I thought about the three Grow games:

At first, they just seemed a bit silly, and like they had no point or solution. As I played more and more, I began to develop strategies to get my placed items to level up higher. It's quite fascinating, really.

The first thing I played was the original Grow.

Grow
This one had my interest the least. It is kind of plain, and almost boring. The strategy that I tried out on this one that proved most efficient was that I put the things that came chronologically with time. First the mountains, then the egg, ect.

All in all, this one is okay, but not my favorite in the Grow series.

Grow Cube
Next, I tried out the Grow Cube. It's basically the same thing as the original Grow, except it is cube form, and there a different items to place. I figured out that placing the beady things last was a good idea, and always put the water in before people. Don't put the ball on until you have the tube at its second stage, unless it will fall. Here's my high score screenshot:


This one was actually kind of exciting, and it kept my interest for a while.

Grow RPG
This one is my all time favorite in the Grow series. It is just like one of the others, except with a theme, and a small story that takes place at the end. You must place all of the items in the correct order to get the correct story. I actually played it until I figured out the pattern.

The pattern is staying safe with me, though. Don't even ask for it!

Hint>> Think about what need to grow most, and place that first. Some items need to have other items around in order to grow to their full capacity.

Nice.

I like that word, 'nice,' as its own sentence. It really says a lot, but at a strange abstract angle. You know what I mean?

Today, school was released at the early hour of 10:30(am). So, I spent most of the day playing games with my sister. She really likes Midnight Club 2. It's pretty entertaining. We don't really get competitive with it though. We just sorta drive all around the three cities that are available in the game, Paris, Tokyo, and LA. Our favorite place is Paris. (Mainly due to the fact that I know most of the landmarks there, and it is super fun to ramp of le louvre's pyramid.)

So, tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I am meeting up with my cousin, Molly, that lives in Indianapolis. It's pretty exciting when I see her, because it isn't that often. She is the person that got me into anime, so most of the time, we are going to be watching anime.
It's going to rock. She just got the full Love Hina set, and she may be giving me some anime DVDs from her anime obsessed friend.
I'm rather excited.

Okay, let's begin our countdown:
#3 John Tantalo's Version


Okay, this one was bit boring, and it didn't quite grab my interest. The game play is very simple: arrow keys to steer. So, you pick up paper clips, then batteries, then staplers, and then pretty soon you have made your way up to phones. Once you reach this point, you might as well not even play anymore. The game just goes on infinitely. The phones start to turn into dots, and you too will begin to follow suit.

Overall, this game isn't too great, but it is still a bit relaxing to play.

#2 Foreverkul Version at Newgrounds


This one is very good! I enjoyed playing it. It lasted a while, had a large variety of objects, and best of all gave you a score!
To play, you just steer around the katamari with the arrow keys, and pick things up (duh). So, one of the best parts of this game is the wonderful background music that you can optionally turn on. Unfortunately though, when it is on and a lot of objects remain, the game gets extremely laggy.

Besides this, you can probably see why this game fell into second place on the countdown.

Yay, it's finally an official version! That's one of the main reasons that this version falls into slot number 1.

Okay, this one is a bit more complex, so allow me to explain:

You start at a desertish place and you can choose from a series of number of plays. This is the amount of katamari cousins are on the screen at once (you control them all).

Secret: If you click on the little arrow on the top of the pyramid, you unlock a 40 play option.

Now, when the game starts, the sexy music starts to play. This is good.

The first thing you need to realize is that you are controlling the King of All Cosmos's head around the screen. The cousins all follow your head. You have to be careful not to move too slowly, because the cousins will ram into the cursor and loose all of their items. You also have to take caution once your katamari gets fairly large. When this happens, you need to avoid the katamari at all costs. It will roll you right up! If this happens, it's a death wish. You have to left click the mouse to eject everything off of the katamari and start fresh.

Eh hem, Strategy:
Okay, here's the best strategy I've found.
Right when it starts, move the box down. Right as the path way clears, try to get the box to the upper left-hand corner. You can kinda rest there for a bit. Watch for one of the blue squares to come at you around 10 seconds. Once this happens, you flee. You are now just playing a game of dodgems. Heh. I found it easiest to concentrate on the red square, rather than the blue boxes moving around it.

Review it, dumb Crit!

I wish I could be a critic. That would rock. You could sit around all day and tell people what was wrong with their work. "Yes, the piece is good. All except for that horrendous nose!"

Oh yeah.

On other news, I have been drawing a lot of my comic. My style has finally been refined to look rather nice. Unfortunately, there is the issue with the text. Text. It sucks. I wish that I had better handwritting or something, because I am afraid that the general reader won't be able to figure out what I am trying to say. So, to try to approach this issue, I went to the local Borders and read a book on comic book creating. Right when I opened the book, I went to the section on the text. They recommend:

1. Try to do hand-written, it gives it some personality.
2. If the hand-writting is bad, create a personal font.
3. Use default computer text... Sans.

So, I am trying out number one on the list, first. When this doesn't work out, if so, I will create a font. If I just can't get those fonts working. I suppose I can settle for a little comic sans.

I am kinda liking this hand-written idea. It makes the editing part so much easier. All I have to do is scan, crop, save, and post. No text editing whatsoever.

Alright. If you have been recently to check out the Beach Aliens site, you probably noticed the lack of updates. Nonono, this doesn't mean that I have stopped creating it at all. I am just trying to get my hands on my own personal scanner to use (instead of my brother's). So, I am forced to save up my own cash to get my own. Hopefully, I will have it soon. This way, I can post the 5.5 unscanned pages I have sitting on my desk.

Since this post is entitled 'Review it, dumb Crit!,' I will (without further adue) now explain. I plan on trying out new things (like Google Pages post) and talking about them here. If you didn't notice, that was kinda the idea behind the past two posts. I find I get way more page hits when I do this. Hehe. I mean, who really wants to read about what I did during my day?

No, don't get me wrong, I will still do some filler-sort posts about me, but the main focus is changing to the idea of criticism. Oh yes, wonderful criticism. Nope, I couldn't find too much interesting, fresh, and new stuff to write about today, but, maybe tomorrow.

When, which is probably soon, I get sick of being a critic, I will just stop writing those crit-ish articles, and come back to my good ol' style of talking mainly about me.

Of Google Pages and Spores

Google Pages
Yes, I tried out Google's new Google Pages Beta deal. It's a great WYSIWYG editor, but if you are strongly attatched to your HTML, Google Pages is not for you.

I found that the best part of Google Pages was the fact that you didn't have to download anything. It was all embedded on their web's (Google Pages). The unfortunate thing in my case is their lack of Opera support. I had to open up Firefox in order to use it. (Don't worry, you die-hard IE fans can still enjoy it, too.)

Another downside, it has some small (most likely soon-to-be-solved) issues. When you publish your site, it takes approximately 10 minutes for the changes to show up. Sometimes, there are strange issues that preventing you from going to the page at all. But, I'm sure, with time, these issues will be solved. I suppose that's why this is still in its BETA stage.

So, if you:
a) have a Gmail account
b) don't have much webpage building experience
c) don't mind putting up with the BETAness

Then, this is a great thing for you to try out.

Spore
I am in the local Game Preserve (nerdy, I know) with Ryo on Saturday night, and he tells me about this new game coming out from Maxis (creators of Sims). The game is called Spore. ::Official Site:: Spore is a very cool, extremely innovative idea. You start out as a measly single-celled organism, and you have to evovle and become so advanced that you can actually travel to other people's planet's (with online connection), and interact with them.

This game is bound to be a huge success. It is currently going to be realest for PC, and possibly the XBox 360. I am really hoping that I can find this game on some sort of Play Station console. Whether it's the PS2 or upcoming PS3, I don't care. I just don't want to have anything to do with Xbox, and I don't have a great graphics card on my PC.

So, let's just all hope that this game doesn't require a monthly fee when it is released.

Okay, enough with the guessing game. I'll just tell you. I got my first issue of my year's subscription to Wired magazine. It was really a nice deal. $10 per 12 issues! Yay. I get to have my NERD feed of information.

Well, featured in the magazine (on the cover, actually) was a look at the upcoming movie, A Scanner Darkly. This movie is not your ordinary Sci-fi film. It has a very unique look and feel to it. The movie looks like it is fully animated at times, but at others, you think the characters may be real. This is due to the unique style they used for the recording of the movie. They recorded the movie as usual, but in the editing stages, they transformed the images to get a very unique look. To me, it looks like the images of the loading screen in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Here is a screenshot from the film:


Oh, I hope that this movie releases soon. It is sure to please audiences in a similar way to how Sin City did.

Another Rainy Monday

Today sucked.
Well, not all day. Mainly just French class.

I got so sad and regretfully mad at myself.

I got a test back, a test that supposedly the 'whole' class did a wonderful job on. The whole class, but of course, me. I am such a freaking retard. I don't know how I could make so many dumb mistakes in one test! Well, my grade is probably ruined in that class now, and my GPA is going to go way down just because of that damn French class. I don't know why it has to be so difficult. I don't think foreign language is my 'thing.'

Achoo! Blesh me. Isn't that so irking?

Don't you just hate it when people say 'blesh' instead of 'bless?' Another thing that really annoys me: words that sound the same, but could still have a several meanings. For instance:

Dove:
a) a bird
b) past tense version of dive

-or-

Tense
a) an area of time
b) to be unrelaxed

Isn't that just so annoying. But, the most annoying thing about this is, that damn chocolate company named their chocolate Dove Chocolate. Which meaning is it supposed to take on? Their logo is a diving dove. So, do they mean the dive dove, or the dove bird? Both?

Oh, I suppose we will never know.

Drip Drop, The Witch is Dead

Drip drop, drip drop. I am going insane. Well, no I am not, but if I were, I probably wouldn't know it.

If anyone is going insane, it would definately be Ryo. Seriously, it really wouldn't surprise me too much. He works himself so, so, so, so hard, and runs on almost no food or sleep. I admire him for his devoted effort.

So, ryo can make a 3D tank in Blender in about 5 minutes. Shocking, I know.

Anyways, tomorrow may be a bit on the boring side compared to my average day. This is mainly due to the fact that Megan is going to be on an all day field trip, so I won't get to see much of her, talk to her, sit with her at lunch, ect. It is rather nice since we are in almost all of the same classes this semester. It helps the days move along, but tomorrow, oh my. It will be boring.

I am so selfish. I am here talking about myself with great sympathy. I should accredit others a lot more often. I should try to include achievements of my peers in here.

Okay, I already told you about Ryo's 3D tank.

The reason Megan is going on this field trip is so that she can see this print that she had entered into this Scholastic art competition in Indianapolis. She is going to see her artwork on display. (I hear her print is like the first thing you see when you walk into the exhibit!)

My old friend Jenny scored first in the backstroke events in state competitions, and second in butterfly. She is a one of a kind swimmer. I am happy for her. I hope she goes to the Olympics in two years. I'm sure she will.

Hmmmmm.

Rainy Days and Mondays

Okay, well, today isn't rainy. It's quite sunny actually. I just needed a good title for this post.

I have now released a total of ten techno songs. Two of these songs are in the top 50 of their genre on the soundclick.com genre charts.

I don't have very much homework to do today.

Yay.

I made it into honors English 11 for next year.

Huge yay.

So, more on that honors English. I had to do this long writing sample a couple weeks ago first thing in the morning since I was a prospect student for honors English 11. So, I go in, as tired as can be, and read this long passage. After writing an analytical essay on the passage, I was finally free to go. So, I wait for about two weeks, then finally get my response. It was funny because my mom had gotten it in the mail before I woke up, and when I came upstairs, she was trying to act all discrete about it so that I would be surprised. I just played along and acted extremely shocked, even though I already could tell I made it from the look on her face, and the way she said, "You got a response about honors English."

It was quite hilarious.

Technologic

I have been creating techno like it is going out of style.

But then again, maybe it is.

Hopefully not though, since I just got into the scene first-hand.

To give you an idea of how much this is affecting me, I even had a dream last night related to my techno craze. My dream was very abstract and quite exciting. The other chatacters in my dream were a series of Pop'n musicish cartoony things:

So, I was in this sythesizer competition where you had to pretty much face off with another player in a battle of the keyboards! Well, everyone thought that I was some unexperienced newbie to the world of techno and synths, so they stuck up their noses. To their dismay, I somehow managed to make it to the final competition. As I watched the girl go in front of me for the finals, I got extremely nervous and anxious. "Next up, we have Ryan playing the most difficult syth pattern in the world!"
When all of a sudden "beeep, beeep" My alarm. It sucked. I never will know if I won the competition or not. I am beginning to feel like I am going to cry. That dream was so fantastic. It was like my ideal situation of happiness.

I hope that I get to have that dream again tonight, but I highly doubt it.

Something kinda pissed me off: AOL is trying to amount to the godliness that Google is by creating a free webmail service that provides 2Gig of server space to each user. Unfortunately, it is, of course AOL, plus Gmail gives you over 2Gig and you are always getting more and more.

Stay away from that ugliness that AOL is. Come to the godliness of Gmail.

You know what I think about this whole "A Million Little Pieces" story and the guy lying to Oprah?

I think it is complete bullshit.

I think this is all a big sceme to sell the book better. I mean, isn't obvious? Nobody knew about his book until the guy's "secrets" were reveled. Sounds a bit tabloidish to me.

I believe that Oprah and James Frey, the author, are working in conjunction with each other. They are probably both lying. It promoted the book didn't it. A perfect case of reverse psychology! Oprah says, 'Don't buy the book.' and since I have Oprah so much, I think I just might have to buy it!

Ow, my back.

This weekend was rather stressful.

Not outrightly, blantantly stressful. It just gives me the impression that it was when I think back on it. Oh my, I think I have a stress indicator. It is my back. I think that when I get a little bit too stressed, my back begins to ache. Hopefully, it will cease the annoying knotting soon. I am assuming it will since school isn't stressful. Wait a second, yes it is! Damn, this sucks. Now I am going to be hurting really bad.

I am planning on attending a small group at our local library called the Teen Advisory Board this coming Thursday. It basically sounds like a community church youth group minus the God part. My friend Jackie told me about it. It seems like a cool thing to go to. You get to talk about the most recent books you've read, check out more books, and play little game thingies. I think it sounds like some fun.

I just got the first page of my new web comic run off. It is not another lazy one like one of my previous ones. It is one I am planning on getting to look nice, and take some time on. The art style isn't that of anime nor furry. It is a sort of style of its own. I am using marker, pen, and pencil to create a very multicultural picture. I'll post a link to the comic's site soon.

I am sure you are dying to know, what did I do this weekend that created this strangely subtle creeping of this back/stress pain. Well, I basically sat in the house and stared droopily out my basement door's window at the depressing, overcast weather of winter. This winter is extremely strange. The temperatures have been averaging approximately 40 degrees (PS- I don't live near the southern area of the US).

On Friday, I am creating a writing sample to send to the honors program at our school. This will be the deciding factor to tell whether or not I am accepted into honor's English at my high school. I surely hope I do. I mean, my writing skills, in my opinion, are a little bit above average for the average person that's my age. I think many would agree.

I'm not sure if you remember back a while ago when I was writing about how much I hate arrogant people. Well, I have finally come to conclude that I shouldn't have said that. I, unfortunately, am rather arrogant myself. I feel bad for having said anything. I apologize as well.

Anyways, after sitting and staring out the window, I went to sit in a smelly old gym at Purdue to watch my sister have a two hour soccer practice. It was dim in that gym. I don't like dimmness. It depressed my soul even further.

On the brighter side, I had a really good dinner both nights this weekend. Last night, I took the time to make our family some homemade pizza. It turned out really good, too! Then, for dinner tonight, we had sloppy Joes. My mom makes the best SJ's. I am jealous.

Project Hoshimi

My Algebra 2 teacher, Mrs. Lasley, told me about this really cool contest that is going on all over the US. It is called Project Hoshimi.

I had a lot of fun at my aunt's Chinese dinner. It was so delicious. She made some chicken dish and a pork dish. They were both incredibly delicious.

Us cousins all entertained ourselves by adding 'in bed.' to the end of all of our fortunes from the fortune cookies. It was quite immature, but still very, very funny. Here's one I got:

Slaying the Chinese Dinner

Today, I am venturing to my aunt's house. She annually has a ethnic dinner at her house. This year, it is Chinese themed. Last year, it was Italien. I do not remember what she did the first year, but anyways, I am pretty excited.

I got into The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker last night. It was pretty exciting. As far as I can tell, I am basically at the game's half point. I am at this super annoying boss that is just two hands and I head. I guess I am supposed to hit the hands' eyes with my arrows twice, the head's eyes twice each, then finally throw a bomb in his mouth. I have to do this over and over until it dies. It is quite stressful, but still exciting.

I have only successfully gone through that whole cycle once, but even then, I don't think I could've done it again with the low life meter I had.

I just watched some of the Slayers I bought last weekend in my room. Yay, I love The Slayers. I watched the three episodes on vol. 5. They are pretty funny. Amelia thinks that it would be useful if she learned Dragon Slay (the most powerful dark magic spell), but unfortunately, she is a clumsy, white magic cleric that shouldn't know block magic. Lina knows this, so she tries to break it to Amelia kindly (by making her do impossible tasks until she gives up). Amelia gets close to giving up, then by a strange chain of events, finally realizes that black magic isn't to be used recklessly.

Nothing special has been happening.

Oh yes! I forgot! I finally finished reading the Ring Trilogy. It was great, and quite different from the movies that are released in America. It is shocking that such a great story can degrade to a horrible American movie, isn't it?

So, I suppose I will just stop watching it all together. (Not like I won't hear my sister watch it.)

Anime on Google Video & Loop

As I was browsing for funny videos on Google Video search, I stumbled acrossed a whole section with anime episodes! So I watched some Chobits and then some Love Hina last night. It was great!

On Friday, I went to the library to pick up a hold that I had available. Of course, this hold was the long awaited Loop book. I have since delved into this book, now over 100 pages into it. It is a great book. It is contantly provokeing my thoughts to come up with strange ideas about those complicated topics no one likes to talk about(the creation of life, ect.).

I'm sure Megan is eager to read the book, so I want to finish it and give it to her.

First C++ Program

I went to Borders late last night. I finally had a golden opportunity to use my Christmas money. My mom couldn't complain either, I mean, it's books!

So, I looked around for a bit. I looked in the manga section, and picked up Chobits Vol. 3-6. Since I had my 30% coupon, it wouldn't be such a big dent in my piggy bank. I passed my mom and sister, and they said it was about time to leave, but I had one more thing to check up on first, computer books. I went straight there, and looked through them, quickly. I scanned and saw C# programming books. I though, "Hmmm, I had to return the C# programming book to the library, so I don't have such a good resource for programming anymore." I checked the price. $25. "That's a good price, I wonder..." My eyes scanned to the next section of programming books, it was C++. "I've been wanting to learn C++, maybe I should get this instead." So, I put the C# book back and pick up the C++ book, still only $25.

I sped to put back all but one of the Chobits books. I kept vol. 3. I went to the check out. Right before handing the cashier the coupon I had, I noticed that it said "30% off one book." Heh heh, good thing I put back those Chobits, and I got something that will earn me more of a discount, eh?

So, I get home and start into my C++ book. I read, read, read. I soon come to a section where it says to type what is written in the box into the source code editor. So, I copy down exactly what the book says to. This copying was rather good, I got to see and remember the elements of a basic C++ program. Since I don't quite consider copying actually writing your own, this program didn't count. After countless errors, and rude forum folk, I got this program to run. FINALLY!

Now, since I wanted to create my own program that was 100% original, I started thinking through common math formulas. The Pythagorean Theorem popped into my head, so I decided that I would write a program that would solve for side 'c' of the Pythagorean Theorem. I did the 'a' squared and 'b' squared parts of the coding quickly, without errors. Soon, it was time for the square root. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to any part in my book yet that discusses how to square root with C++ coding, so I searched the net, and soon found what I was looking for.

Bubblegum Crisis

I am sitting here in my mom's office, with my headphones on, listening to Bubblegum Crisis music on my MP3 player. It is almost relaxing. The only problem is that I am having an extremely difficult time trying to type on this slanted keyboard. My hands start to move and I type one letter over. My mom's coworker has this adjusted so that it is tilted forward and to the left! What is up with that?

Anyways, while my aunt is helping my mom with some minor computer issues, I am here on the other computer typing this, since I am obviously unwanted around the other. I believe I am really on my mom's nerves. She would much rather get help from my aunt than I. Oh, well.

I hit the jackpot today! I went to the local campus used CD/DVD store called Von's, and I found a huge bookcase filled with a bunch of old anime VHS tapes for only a dollar each! Fortunately, I brought my money along with me, so I purchased almost the full Bubble gum Crisis series, with the exception of tape 2 and tape 4. Other than that, the whole thing is there, only costing me a total of $9! Pretty lucky, eh?

I still haven't lost my obsession with the Eden song. I think I am going to switch my MP3 player to that song now...
...okay, I did. So, this day seemed to drag on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. I thought I would never see the light of day. I only have two classes the whole day with windows, quite depressing, eh? The worst part is, every time I am in my health class, I feel as if I am living in a yellow, grainy old film. I film that would never get its fame, because it is way too depressing for anyone in their sane minds to like.

Maybe, this is quite an exaggeration, actually, it really is, but not too much of one. Fortunately, my friend, Megan, is with me through the horribleness of health, and on through the majority of my day. It actually ROCKS that I get to have so many classes with Megan plus lunch. How nice.

Megan and I had a good time on the bus today listening to hilarious System of a Down songs. We love to listen to them and laugh out loud. It is quite entertaining. Then she brought that 'let's do it like they do on the discovery channel' song!! I haven't heard that forever!

I ate dinner a bit ago. Everyone I was with was largely craving pizza, so I find myself at a 50 year old pizza place eating delicious, but greasy pizza. No regrets, yet.

Internet Forum

I made an internet forum yesterday, and we have already gotten approximately 100 posts, but that's only with 5 users posting. If we get more people there, we could get around 300 posts on there very quickly. So, if you are interested, come check out the forum (http://dessart.myfreeforum.org).

So, anyways, I have been checking up on my cd a lot. It says that it's in Kansas City, MO. So, I guess that means it probably won't be here today.

I just went to this kid's forum and his arrogant attitude really got on my nerves. It was quite bothersome to go there and read his words that say, "Most of the better players can AA or AAA songs on their first try, and I am no exception."

This is bothersome to me. Is it to you? I'm sure it is. Arrogance is something that really gets to me. I hope I'm not arrogant, because when you are, you usually don't realize it. If I am, I apologize.

I read a ton of Chobits last night. I started up on the first volume and I couldn't put it down! So, I read the second volume as well, and I am eagerly awaiting the aquiring of the third! I can't wait!

Amanda says that she is working on a webcomic. Heh, I can't wait for this one. It should be rather interesting. I wish she would let Ryo design the webpage for her so it isn't so crystal ball filled, as is her current site. I suppose I could design it, but I am trying really hard right now to not be hypocritical about before.
I am eagerly awaiting the results from the Stepmix contest. The site says, "All entries must be submitted by January 22nd 2006. Winners will be announced on the web site approximately one week after the deadline."

This means that by February, I shall know if I placed or not! Even if I don't place, I will be very happy. My song is listed on their site then forever and will be included in the Stepmania Complete CD Rom! Hehehe, how exciting. Then, people will have my song on modded gaming consoles all over the world! Okay, maybe that's a bit too far, but, it's possible right?

Now I am starting to understand why people always have the word 'rant' in their blog titles, since that is what I am doing right now. If anyone is actually interested enough to read this, it would be rather shocking.

I watched one of the LUM movies last night. It was the second one, Beautiful Dreamer. Unfortunately, my sister got bored with it, so I shut it off and watched Fooly Cooly on [Adult Swim].

Maybe I should send an Email to [Adult Swim] telling them that I appriciate their anion block. It seems like they need someone to tell them that. They obviously like it, but they are under the impression that no viewers like it. That is clearly untrue though. I think I'll email them now. But first, I will compose the email right here on this blog:

Nobody Knows

I just finished watching the movie titled 'Nobody Knows.' It is a long and fairly good movie. I have seen better ones, but this one isn't the worst. It is just: okay.
Pretty much, you watch these motherless kids try to get by with almost no money for the allotted amount of time. It is rather sad, actually.

Last night, I made another Stepmix for the Stepmania Stepmix contest. It is to another Jankenpopp song. This song is titled V i p. If you want to download the Stepmix I made, get it here: V i p. I worked hard trying to prepare a background animation, but it just wasn't working out. For some reason, the 'p' would always get really funky and unreadable. So, I just did a unanimated background for the Stepmix.

I found myself reading some random freshman girl's blog yesterday, and something really irked me: Every single one of her posts was just a bland anthology of her day with 'lol' tagged onto the end of every sentence. This is no exageration either. In one post, she said 'LOL' three times in two short paragraphs! Total insanity. Plus, she always called things that were stupid: gay. Why? Maybe she has a hating for some group of people and finds the best way to express it using their classification instead of 'stupid?'

Well, dinner is ready. My sister tells me. Goodbye!

If you go to Step Mania's Website any time soon, you will get to see my entry to the stepmania contest. It is under the entry titled 'My Name Is Jankenpopp" because that is the song that I used when I made my submission. Plus, it has a link to my simfile site, but that site has a screwy logo that I need to fix soon.

I ordered a CD online yesterday. I went to Best Buy to look for it, but they didn't have it. Online, I had already checked the price, a dollar more than my Best Buy gift card had on it... So, when we were at Best Buy, I had an extra dollar added to my gift card and I ordered it when I got home! Here is a picture of the CD I ordered:



I can't wait for it to arrive. It is expected around the 6th or 7th.

I got into this really cool game called Pente. It is Italian I suspect. What you do is try to get these little glass pieces on this grid to be five in a row before your opponent does. You can also try to capture five pairs of your opponents glass pieces. It can get rather exciting and thoughtful.

The Dating Game

Break

Finals are over.
Semester one is over.
Stress is temporarily over.
Christmas is beginning.

It is now Christmas break at school and all seven of my finals are completed. What a nice thing to just relax.

Last night, I went to the local library and I got some books, manga, and movies. I looked for the Ghost World soundtrack CD, but it was nowhere to be found. I got two books on computer stuff. The first one is about CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) the second is on C#. C sharp is kinda difficult, I think I'll just wait until I take the computer programming classes at school to get into any type of C programming.

The main reason I went to the library was to get a movie that I had on hold called Hero. It is a new Chinese Kung-fu movie. It is just gorgeous! The camera shots and fight scenes were amazing! I feel so fulfilled after watching that film! I highly recommend it.

I also got my hand upon Akria, the classic anime movie. I am eager to watch it. I actually haven't seen it yet. I grabbed some manga while we were there too. I got the first three Demon Diary books, volume one of somthing I can't remember the name, and also Dark Water by Koji Suzuki, the author of The Ring Trilogy.

Yesterday, I started to tip my toes into MS-Dos commands. It was rather entertaining. I learned the 'TREE', 'PRINT', and 'PING' commands. I really want to learn more about the 'PING' command, but my dad won't let me mess with the DOS on our computer. He is afraid I will ruin something... Heh.

I also went to Steak 'n Shake last night and got a wonderful meal. Their steak burgers are the best burgers in the world. I also got a huge banana shake to wash it down. MMMMM-MMMM! Their chili is a little disturbing though. It is 1 part oil and 1 part brown sludge and beans. I was sitting there stirring mine for a long time trying to get the oil to blend with the sludge and beans. After adding in my oyster crackers, it wasn't half bad. All you had to do was get over the fact that it kinda slides down your throat whether you want it to or not.

So, I am hoping for a good break and a good Christmas. I am also wishing you happy holidays. Ryo, you too, enjoy the warmth in Alabama.

100th post!

Yay, I have reached my one-hundredth post in my Dessart In the Desert blog! What a joyous day! And just in time for finals too!

Oh no! Finals!

This is bad, I must study, but not without making a blog post first.

Okay, so this weekend was great. I feel like I actually got something accomplished. What I found as I was surfez sur le Internet was a Pop'n music simulator by Stepmania. I found it through the Bemanistyle forum. It excited me since I have always wanted to play Pop'n Music, but it was always way too expensive. So, I downloaded the simulator and started to play. Unfortunately, Pop'n is not Pop'n with out a controller. So, I set out to see what I could do about it.

I went back to the forums and found a thread on how to make your own controller out of a USB keyboard. The only unfortunate thing was, I didn't have a USB keyboard! I called the local computer stores just to be disappointed in finding out that there were none in town for under $15, my budget.

So, I talked to my dad about it and he told me about this used computer parts store in Indianapolis. We went there there yesterday since we were already planning on going to Indianapolis to do some Christmas shopping. *gags*

So, we enter the store and the employee asks if there is anything we are looking for. After telling him, we search through this large bin a $5 keyboards to see if any of them were USB keyboards. To my excitement, my dad uncovered a nice, black USB keyboard with the PS2 adapter attached. HuZZaH!!

We bought this inexpensive, $5 keyboard, and left the store before the workers changed their minds.

I began my dissection of the keyboard. Removing all the keys but a select few, I finally finished. Now, all I needed was some sort of half spheres to make the buttons. Today, my dad took me to the local Target. We looked through all the sports items and eventually found these awesome, colored, foamy balls that would make perfect buttons.

I came home with my new spheres, cut them in half, glued them on, threw on some other keyboard decorations, and finally got to my finished product! The completed Pop'n Music controller was ready, and I have been having tons of fun playing on it. I can't wait to get really good at Pop'n Music. Currently, I am strung up between the light and standard levels. I hope to have a higher level by the end of the upcoming Christmas Vacation! Nothing better than fresh fruit

I am sitting here at the computer, obviously.

Not only sitting, but eating some fruit. It is like a big fruit cocktail that my aunt made. Delicious. I love bananas. I just swallowed one. You should go slice you some fruit so you can join in on the experience also.

Yes, so stress is rising. I am beginning to get easily irritated by things. I think that because of this time of the year, I will die much sooner. I think that if finals were eradicated from schools, people would seriously live about five more years. This would in fact increase our countries average lifespan.

Woah, I think this fruit is starting to ferment. That last bite tasted a lot like wine. Hmmm, I wonder. Did she...?

...Nah.

So, my day...
...of course was stressful! Full of stress it was. I have been going to bed earlier and earlier, but still find myself very drowsy in the morning. My friend says that it is the weather. I think I agree with him.

Am a liberal or conservative. I think I need to figure this out. I suppose that I am liberal...
...or not, I am unsure. But, I am thinking I lean towards the liberal side. I am open minded and don't mind a good change. A good change. I am then, turning away from my parents, whom I am pretty sure are conservative.

Actually, I don't think I know what I am talking about. (Oh no, an adult-like conversation with myself. I am leaving my loved childhood.)

Industrial

Things-
I am sitting here listening to some music. Industrial music to be precise. It is my new 'thing.'

Another 'thing' that I have been partaking in is the making of websites. I felt like I spent my whole weekend building websites. This is not a bad thing at all though. I actually enjoy building them. It is a chance to use my new-found knowledge of CSS and blend art into it. How fun?

So, another plus: the DDR shirts are in! I just saw them not too long ago. They are so cool! I am wearing mine to school tomorrow. Yes! Another DDR time. These are the best.

Industrial-
On the more stylish side, I like chilling in my room now and listening to this industrial music. Industrial music is a mixture of dark techno sounds and metal/goth rock. It is very enjoyable. I really like sitting on my bed and acting like I am in a trance when I listen to it. It makes me feel mysterious. I like feeling mysterious. The mysterious atmosphere of industrial is very enjoyable. What isn't enjoyable is the though of the finals that are quickly approaching us.

Finals-
They start next week. Fortunately, next week is only a four day week, then the long awaited winter break is to happen. This will be my time of rejoice. I will hopefully get Guitar Hero for Christmas, and I will spend a lot of my break getting into that game. That shall make me assez heureux.

French-
Is constantly running through my head now. Almost annoying? Not quite, I am starting to get used to it. Unfortunately, whole sentences are coming to mind, only these wretched adjectives we have been spending oh so much time on. Good thing we took the lesson test today, eh?

Tension-
Is on the rise. These end-of-the-semester, before-the-final tests are driving me to the end of the parallelness in my world. Yes, I shall soon be in the other side with my stress. This means? This means that I shall soon be so stressed that, unbelievably, I will lurch into the parallel universe which my same self exists. Oh, nevermind, I wish that this made sense. I guess I am trying to say that I will soon become nonexistent from the tension of this stress. Stress is bothersome, I should vent.

I guess I am the great exaggerator. I really don't get as much stress as my peers, Ryo, for example. I really have nothing to complain about.

Up early..

So, I am up here very early, and guess what? No school today. So, basically I am up for no reason. I guess this means I actually will have a FULL day to just bask in the radion of my computer. I guess my computer doesn't really give off radion, but if it does, I shall have cancer in a few days.

So, no nono no nono no nono school today!

Hehe, I want to play my O2 Jam game now. BYE!

I hope this means that there is no school tomorrow. As of now, there is only a two hour delay, but a cancellation seems very reasonable. I think people would be surprised if there wasn't a cancellation tomorrow morning. So, let's cross our fingers and do the snow dance over and over, maybe our wish will come true!

Oh yes, this reminds me, I saw a shooting start the other day. It was rather fascinating. I first thought that a UFO was crash landing in the distance, then I figured it probably was a falling star. Like a shooting star across the midnight sky...
yes, hyper hyper hyper, I can't sleep. Nonononono. What is with this? AHHHH!

When I die, it may be bad if I were playing DDR, because then I would be too healthy.

When I die, as Ryo said, I don't want guilt.

When I die, I want my mother to already be dead so she doesn't have to see it.

After I die, I don't want to think anymore, I want it to be like it was before I was born.

Now I have what I want straight so I can die with hope. This took a lot of thinking to come up with what I want.

The Paper Sculpture Show

Yes, as I mentioned before, today was my long awaited field trip:

We board our white bus to set off on our way. Before leaving the school parking lot, the art teacher told us that she didn't know the way to Purdue's campus. This is very sad because if you live in the same town as a college, you should know how to get there.

Well, after her turning the wrong way out of the parking lot, we were on our way...
... the long way.

When we arrived, we couldn't find the spot we were supposed to park in. My teacher, still a little lost, decided that she should pull into a drive and park right next to a 'Do Not Enter' sign. Smart, eh? So, we walk in the freezing cold to the Purdue Memorial Union, a very nice building. We got a half hour to ourselves to eat, but while everyone was eating, I sped down to the basement to play a round of DDR with my friend Sadie. After that, I got a delicious soft pretzel and marinara sauce to eat. When I finished eating that, I went and got me a tea from Starbucks. My tongue is still numb from it's unbearable heat!

So, after all the goofing around, we got to finally see some of the art that we came there for, but not until we walk to another building. Once we got to the galley, we looked at all of the photographs there. They were all black and white pictures of scientific experiments. I guess it was trying to show that there was a link between art and science?

After seeing the photos, we went to one of the most exciting parts of my day. It was called the Paper Sculpture Show. It is a show where YOU are the artist (Wow, this sounds like some propaganda poster). There are a series of papers laying around in piles, and you choose which one you want to make. There are most likely going to be some examples hanging on the wall or on the shelf of every sculpture available. Once you make something from the instructions, or your own invention, you get to choose a spot to put it in the room. That way, the show is always getting new things and it is rather interesting to look at. Some people's sculptures were REALLY stupid. IE: a mans face with a other mans nose on it...

...yes, there have been little kids there. Beware.

So, after finally finding our way back to school from there, we got on another bus to come home on. It was a really fun day!

Tomorrow is the grand field trip to Purdue Art Galleries. It should be a great experience. We eat at the Union, and then trek on to the gallery. Hopefully I have fun there. Well, I will report back tomorrow with news on the trip!
